I have been building and maintaining WordPress platforms and web applications for 8+ years, including 5+ years on projects for US and European clients. Most of my work is behind the interface: payment and booking flows, third-party integrations, customer dashboards, custom business logic and performance-critical database work.

I am comfortable in code I did not write. A good share of my time goes to picking up someone else’s project, working out why an integration stopped firing or why a page takes four seconds to load, and fixing it without proposing to rebuild everything. Accessibility is the other half of what I do: fifteen production sites taken to WCAG 2.1 AA, all of which passed their audits.

    Multi-step checkout, saved cards, autopay, reservations and the customer dashboard — on WooCommerce and Vue 3.

  1. WordPress / Full-Stack Developer

    May 2021 – present

    Web agency · US and European clients

    • I work on several client platforms at a time, usually three to five, some of them multisite networks, and take features from the first technical conversation through release and whatever follows it.
    • Built the commerce side of a self-storage platform: unit availability and pricing, reservations and move-in, multi-step checkout, saved cards, autopay, insurance options and the customer dashboard.
    • Integrations are a large part of the job — Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.Net, Visma, Fortnox, external management-system APIs — along with the debugging: webhooks that quietly stop firing, tokens that expire, data that stops matching between two systems.
    • Write custom Gutenberg blocks and Vue 3 / React components, and rewrite older PHP as I go, without taking live sites down to do it.
    • On a site of more than a thousand pages I reworked the global query, added the database indexes it was missing and replaced the default search with an indexed lookup.
    • Took fifteen production sites to WCAG 2.1 AA: keyboard navigation, focus management, semantic structure, ARIA patterns, contrast and accessible media. All of them passed their audits.
    • Set up PHPStan, PHPCS and GitHub Actions on our projects, and review colleagues’ pull requests — mainly for security, escaping, and whether the next person will be able to follow the code.

    Freelance

    • WordPress and WooCommerce work for direct clients and agencies, including a three-month contract and several clients I kept for years.
    • Migrations and legacy work: custom CMS to WordPress, Drupal to WordPress, with the data cleanup that always comes with them.
    • Set up analytics and conversion tracking (Google Tag Manager, enhanced conversions, Yandex Metrica), usually working alongside the client’s own analyst.
    • Everything client-facing was mine as well: requirements, estimates, delivery and support.

    A business running 60+ locations. Most of the customer-facing side: availability and pricing, the reservation and move-in journey, multi-step checkout, saved payment methods, autopay, insurance options and the account dashboard — all through the storage-management system’s API.

    A US education provider: how students find a programme and enrol — custom filtering, product and variation logic, the application steps and ongoing WooCommerce work on an older codebase.

    WP UTM Sticky — open source

    Keeps UTM and ad-click parameters alive after the first landing page and carries them into five form plugins, email links and WooCommerce order meta. First- and last-click modes, a server-side mode for cached sites, extension filters, and PHPStan and PHPCS in CI.
